OOTD : 50 Shades O'Tulle

Last week was definitely a rough one. We all have our moments where we just don't want to put on clothes, answer the phone, blah blah blah. We'll just call it "Me Time" LOL. That was me (life happens). I was on bum status and I didn't care. Eventually I would have to get out though.

Sunday, I had an assembly to attend. There was definitely a certain way I wanted to look because a few weeks ago I bought some new shoes and a clutch and I wanted them to be part of my ensemble. Recalling a gift card I won, I knew it would be a great time to use it. Saturday morning I went to the mall in search for something to fit my vision. Nothing too long to cover my shoes. Something that would get me through the heat. Very stylish.

Now, there is a lesson at the end of this LOL. I went into Windsor, saw a skirt I adored, but didn't think it would work out. I went around to some of my other favorite stores and I couldn't find AN-Y-THIN-G! After I went around, I went back to the floor where I parked and on the way out was Windsor, ... That skirt was mines.

In the end, it all worked out perfectly. I loved every bit of it from my hair down to my shoes. Minus my shoes, skirt, and clutch, everything else was from my closet.

I was going for simple. So on my lips I used my NYX's matte lip cream in the color Transylvania (my favorite, check out my obsession post here). Also that is my natural hair. I put it in a puff and used Creme of Nature's Butter-licious Curls for my curls.

This look gave me to much life. It was as if I didn't spend the days before in leggings and sweats. I'm still trying to figure out where I can where this outfit to again LOL ... yes it's that serious :)

Skirt: Windsor
Clutch and Shoes: BCBG
Blazer: Macy's  (old)
Lippie: NYX

xo, darlings.

ps. I've decided to do a blog challenge for the next 7 days. It's the Feel Good blogging Challenge by the super amazing Alex Beadon. You can read about it here . So later on today there will be another post starting my challenge. I'm pretty excited and I challenge any of my fellow bloggers out there. Something different, I mean, why not!

OOTD-OOTN : On The Run

#StyleBunch,

Summer is seriously coming and going and it's at the highest demand that you have all the fun that you possibly can before it's over. This past weekend I had the most fun. Why? I was able to go to the On The Run tour!! Seeing Beyonce' has always been a dream of mines for I don't know how long and I finally got to live the dream.

The concert was on Saturday (August 2nd) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena,CA. So considering, that it was an outside venue I knew shorts was the way to go. Especially considering that we've been having wacky humidity. My cousin, Lena, and I were thinking about out looks for weeks! I had an idea but, of course, we would have to see how everything would play out.

Considering that my week was not the best one, my outfit changed about six times.I injured my foot at work so my shoes did as well. After a while, I was ready to give up. Yes I said it, give up. a few weeks before I bought this baseball jersey inspired shirt at Love Culture. I wanted to wear a baseball jersey but I wasn't sure on if I wanted to order one or would I come across one in somebody's store. Then I saw this and I loved it. I put a crop top on under because for some reason the buttons wouldn't stay buttoned. The world would've had two shows that night ... LOL

Layered on some jewelry, popped on the red lips, and I was ready for Bey! All in all, I was extremely comfortable and, to be honest, more focused on Bey & Jay than myself.

It was such an amazing experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. As much screaming as I did, I thought my voice would be gone! Unfortunately, no! But it did rain... didn't stop me or any of the other fans from enjoying the show. I came prepared with a beanie in my purse. *thumbs up*

How was your weekend? If you're in LA, did you go to the show? Did you love it?

Shirt: Love Culture (NY black...here)

Bee's Personal Style Facts

If you've been reading Stylish Proportions since the beginning, you may have noticed a few traditional trends within my style. Some more obvious than others. I definitely wanted to bring them out to you to show what most of my styles are centered around. Let's take a look

- The Bigger the Earring , the Happier I Am
It's no secret that I love big earrings!! I always have them on and it's sort of hard for me to step away. I love them, what more can I say. I noticed that they bring out something in my appearance and I just stick with them. I know that the bigger, the bolder and I just love what that does for me.

You should see what I act like when I see some big statement earrings! Love at first sight might be an understatement.

-  I Do Not Wear A Lot Of Make-Up
Make-up can be very fun. I love watching YouTube tutorials all the time. For me personally, I'm not sure if I have enough patience for me to do it myself on my face (LOL). I have my own staple products I use, however, that does not include a foundation, concealer, blush, and highlighter. The most you may catch me with is eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, lip liner, lip gloss, and/or lipstick. Simple right.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against full faces of make-up. I know plenty of make-up artists. When they need a model I would be in first in line and I will be EXCITED! I just know for myself what my hands can do, make isn't exactly it.
- No Labels
Yes, I am one with a curvy stature. However, I do not label myself. When I say labels I'm saying as to identify myself as plus size or regular size or whatever size you can think of. Why don't I? Simply because of whats in my closet. I can't begin to tell you how many different sizes I have in my jungle of fabrics. Some are plus size and some aren't. If I can fit it, I will wear it.

I support all sizes in this world, never singled one out. I put myself in the middle and support them evenly.

- Clearance
Whoever said clearance isn't good is a LIAR!! I love a great clearance rack. A lot of my clothes are from clearance (LOL). Most of the time when I go into a store I will walk straight to the clearance rack first. You never know what good finds are there. The only thing wrong is that sometimes you may not be able to show where it's from because it was on clearance.

Don't be scared to say 'This was on clearance'. It's nothing wrong with it. It's not for everybody but there is NOTHING wrong with a budget. :)

These are just a few facts.
Enjoy.

OOTD: Wedding Ready

No no no, it's not what you think. I did not get married. I was invited to a friend's wedding. Now, I don't go weddings often. To be completely honest, I don't know the last wedding I went to. Possibly before high school (2006-2010). When I was told I was invited I was excited but then I was drawn back a bit because I don't know what to wear to these things. LOL

On my personal Instagram account I posted this:

Just as a little tease of what I put together. Please excuse my nails. I had to make an executive decision and my toes won! Anyway, I knew I shouldn't wear white, definitely didn't want to wear black, so where does that leave me? With all the colors in between. In the end, I landed on primary.

LADY IN RED. I was eyeballing this skirt for a while. I simply love the floral print and how vibrant it is. The fit was amazing, I knew this was what I waned. At first I was going to get a white top but something came over me and I said 'No, go for the red!' I bought everything that day.

Skirt & Shirt: Windsor (couldn't find them on site)
Shoes: Q

OOTD-OOTN : Hooded Denim jacket

Now I feel like everyone has seen this jacket somewhere, some how.
Tell me you haven't... *waiting*

Well anyways I've seen this jacket many of times and of course I was amazed by it. Loved it! But I've seen so many different prices for it, from $50 - $80, it truly broke my heart. However, every time I would be ready to by ( for $50, of course), they would be gone or not in my size! WHACK!!!

Until yesterday...

Yesssssss.... I found it! IN A STORE!! MY JOB!!
I was definitely excited to see it but I was very skeptical about it because I can barely fit anything (with sleeves) at my job because I have big arms. But courage came over, said suck it up, and I tried it on. It fit perfectly, so you know I couldn't pass it up.

Here's a better look:
Acid Wash Anorak Jacket, DENIM, large
It is meant to look big and slouchy, which I love. I have a Large and it's still room in it. The link will be below

Now it was $49.95...Being that I worked there I received a discount. I think even if I didn't I would still buy it! Clearly, I wasn't going to find it cheaper so just go for it. It's versatile, it's fun!

Now back to my outfit:

My friend asked me to go with her BUT (here's the deadly part) I couldn't change my clothes. I HAD TO WEAR MY WORK CLOTHES. *faint* ... okay I'm back... whew! Hence the 'OOTD-OOTN' in the title. Well I just went with the flow. Now before I bout the jacket I wore a denim vest... still went with the outfit. It was cold and a little foggy so I switched up.

My dress is from Forever 21 (who are having an AMAZING sale right now, online and in store) but it was on clearance. I just looked at the site and the dress is gone. Of course you can use any maxi dress and even add some print to it!

Paired with a chunky necklace, low Chuck Taylors, and red lips, I was ready for work....and the party (I guess) LOL!

Of course, one drink and a compliment later, I was too cool for school and was completely okay with what I was working .

Morals of the Post: Just go for it and Work with what you got
