OOTD: Wedding Ready

No no no, it's not what you think. I did not get married. I was invited to a friend's wedding. Now, I don't go weddings often. To be completely honest, I don't know the last wedding I went to. Possibly before high school (2006-2010). When I was told I was invited I was excited but then I was drawn back a bit because I don't know what to wear to these things. LOL

On my personal Instagram account I posted this:

Just as a little tease of what I put together. Please excuse my nails. I had to make an executive decision and my toes won! Anyway, I knew I shouldn't wear white, definitely didn't want to wear black, so where does that leave me? With all the colors in between. In the end, I landed on primary.

LADY IN RED. I was eyeballing this skirt for a while. I simply love the floral print and how vibrant it is. The fit was amazing, I knew this was what I waned. At first I was going to get a white top but something came over me and I said 'No, go for the red!' I bought everything that day.

Amber Unleash'd

Let's be honest, who isn't familiar with Amber Rose?

Kanye's ex girlfriend?

Sassy model/video vixen?

Wiz Khalifa's wife AND mother to his adorable son?

Well if you don't know, you definitely will once you see these UNLEASH'D covers.

Say she isn't SLAYING! I dare you. When I saw the covers, my mouth fell open! She is giving me (and plenty others) a lot of life and trust me, its definitely appreciated! She put the POW! on it.

I've always thought Amber Rose was beautiful. Trendsetter without a doubt. Her hair, alone, brings that out. These covers were just the icing and the cherry.

And guess what YOU can choose the cover. Yes, YOU! Here's how: Go to the UNLEASH'D Instagram (@UNLEASHD_MAG) and just Like the cover that's you favorite. SIMPLE!

If you're like me, you'll probably just like all of them. It just wouldn't matter to me because they all look AMAZING in my opinion. If I had to choose, the blue and green shirt.... or the black and white. (See! I couldn't just give you one. LOL)

But don't forget to check them out and also like your favorite(s).

One day, Two outfits

'Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.'
– Rachel Zoe

It makes me so happy to know that I can be ADAPTABLE. I've been this way for as long as I can remember and I would let it out in little spurts through my life. I think now since I have a blog, I can show it through the clothes that I put on. Yes, that's what makes my happy (LOL).

On this particular day, I had a busy day ahead. I had work very early in the morning and I also had a memorial event to attend that night. Along with all the prep stuff in between, of course.

Well for work, being very incoherent in the early morning, I went simple. My intent was 'All Black, Gold Accessories' and I was sticking to it. I threw on my hand me down pants and black tee (which may look familiar from a different post, but in a different color) then recalled that the shoes I wanted to wear wouldn't work for the shift I had ahead of me. I went with some leopard loafers I purchased from Forever 21 on clearance. To finish it off, my Old Navy Bomber Jacket (that I snagged in-store for $17, yay sale).

The evening came and I was lost, yes I admit! I bought the shirt from h&m and I realized that I didn't want to wear it with was too 'recent' (a Bee thing that I will explain later). So at first I was going to be plain Jane and rock a black maxi skirt. I literally sat down for a whole HOUR pondering on what to do because I wasn't necessarily satisfied. Then it hit me, POW! "Wear your Macy's skirt from two YEARS ago!" Once I put it together it was perfect. I was happy! Put on some years old heels from Forever 21, layered on some gold necklaces (which I'd been wanting to do), fought with my braids to style (style inspired by Yolanda Renee of Etcblogmag), and I was out the door. Only thing I bought recently was my shirt.

Nothing like a few costume changes, right?

Til next post my darlings.

Who does this?

The other night, I went to explore around Santa Monica with my cousins. We started on the 3rd Street Promenade and eventually moved out toward the pier/beach. Of course, me being me, I didn't want to carry a big jacket. So I left it at home. When one of my cousins suggested we just keep walking around and see what we can get into, I was ready until I noticed how close we would be to the beach. We went to the car where my other cousin had a jacket for herself. And I.....Well.... I ended up like this:

Not bad, I know. Nice big scarf to save my neck. BUT this scarf  isn't a scarf at all. It's actually...

a BED SHEET. Yes that's right , a bed sheet. That was all my cousin had in the car and I just said... "Give it here" and it just went from there. It actually came in handy though I must admit. It started bundled around my neck (like the photo below). Once we were at the pier I just opened it and covered my arms. Eventually, I tied it around my neck (first photo above). I enjoyed it, even thought about taking it for a little.

Moral of the post: Use what you have to make it all work.

On that note, I'm out. Peace & Style.

Better Recognize: OOTD

"I am, indeed, a KING, because I know how to rule myself"
- Pietro Aretino

For some reason every time it's a special birthday, I'm working. What's up with that? Hmm...

Well anyways, today is my cousin's birthday (Happy Date of Birth Nea) ! She wanted to go out to eat, of course I'm down for the count! Being that I was at work, I had to go straight to the restaurant after work. Thank goodness, I had extra shoes.

Once the shoes were on, you couldn't tell me nothing! I'm completely in love with my 'Kings Recognize Kings' tee from Gifted Apparel NYC. The words are EVERYTHING to me. I can't help it. I was lucky that everything worked together because sometimes I dress for work and not even thing about what's after that. I have that BAD!

Eventually, I put on my black Old Navy coat (2 years old). Los Angeles has been going through it as far as weather. It was a little chilly out. To be honest I was just excited to have on my coat because I didn't get to wear it over the summer. Weird right?
