Bey the GREAT

I am simply coming to you all today as a FAN!

Last night, Beyonce took it upon herself to blow EVERYBODY in the world's mind at the VMAs. Performing a 12 song , 16 minute medley and accepting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, she disappointed no one.

As a fan, I was blown ALL THE WAY away by her greatness. I knew it was going to be a great performance, not just because its her but because she came out looking like a stain glass window. EPIC may have been an understatement. Bey got my whole life, and I appreciate it to its entirety. Beyonce deserved it all. She shared her confidence, love and hard work. I don't know about you but that's what I'm here for. Gaining all possible influences.

I relived the OTR concert all over again. With one huge plus... BLUE IVY! She was dancing and having a great time, to her mother's music. That sight alone couldn't have been any more heart warming.

After my mini heart attack, sore throat, head ache, crying and shaking, I sat to reflect on what I was feeling. I'm not sure what it is but every time I see something Bey related I'm ready to change my entire life. There are risk to be taken and memories to be had. My goal is just leaving a mark.

Enough talking though (before I start crying again). If you didn't get to see the performance (or you just need a recap) watch it below :

The #TBT Project

It's Thursday! The week is almost over!

As we all know Thursday is the official day of THROWBACKS! Well at least according to Instagram (LOL). Who doesn't love a great throwback...hmmm

Well anyways a great friend of mines, Adi, came up with a great idea for bloggers on this special day. THROWBACK POST.... Count on her to make a great idea.

Adi has her own blog Vegetarian Courtesy and yes you guessed it Adi is a vegetarian.

I thought this would be an awesome fun way to take a look at the past of Stylish Proportions and to especially enlighten new readers on how it all started.

So today I give you my #TBT #ThrowBackThursday

If you are a blogger also, join the fun! Need more info? No problem. Check out Adi's post here .

xo my darlings.

OOTD-OOTN : On The Run

#StyleBunch,

Summer is seriously coming and going and it's at the highest demand that you have all the fun that you possibly can before it's over. This past weekend I had the most fun. Why? I was able to go to the On The Run tour!! Seeing Beyonce' has always been a dream of mines for I don't know how long and I finally got to live the dream.

The concert was on Saturday (August 2nd) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena,CA. So considering, that it was an outside venue I knew shorts was the way to go. Especially considering that we've been having wacky humidity. My cousin, Lena, and I were thinking about out looks for weeks! I had an idea but, of course, we would have to see how everything would play out.

Considering that my week was not the best one, my outfit changed about six times.I injured my foot at work so my shoes did as well. After a while, I was ready to give up. Yes I said it, give up. a few weeks before I bought this baseball jersey inspired shirt at Love Culture. I wanted to wear a baseball jersey but I wasn't sure on if I wanted to order one or would I come across one in somebody's store. Then I saw this and I loved it. I put a crop top on under because for some reason the buttons wouldn't stay buttoned. The world would've had two shows that night ... LOL

Layered on some jewelry, popped on the red lips, and I was ready for Bey! All in all, I was extremely comfortable and, to be honest, more focused on Bey & Jay than myself.

It was such an amazing experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. As much screaming as I did, I thought my voice would be gone! Unfortunately, no! But it did rain... didn't stop me or any of the other fans from enjoying the show. I came prepared with a beanie in my purse. *thumbs up*

How was your weekend? If you're in LA, did you go to the show? Did you love it?

Shirt: Love Culture (NY black...here)
Shorts: Old Navy
Accessories: a mixture of a lot of places

Peace & style.

FEATURE: Trilodee Summer Website

My lovely #StyleBunch,

How goes it?

Over these past few weeks, I have came to the conclusion of taking part in any opportunity. Not for exposure per se, but just for fun and experience. A friend of mines, Domonique, or as I love to call her 'Dom Diva', brought a fun opportunity my way. She owns her own fashion line and company called Trilodee.

She posted a photo via Instagram calling all of her custom works for a special photo shoot.

Now two years ago, I asked Dom to help me out with a birthday outfit. I wanted a double split skirt made especially for me. She made it and I was in love. Still am, don't get it wrong but I haven't had the chance to wear my skirt in a while. When I saw the post, it was an automatic 'YES'  because not only would I be able to do something for her in return but hello, I get to wear my skirt again (LOL). I don't get to go out that much so of course I would. I was so excited but nervous because this would be my first photo shoot, ever. Yes, a rookie I am! I'm so happy I took on the chance.

It was so much fun and I even got to see a few old friends. Dom is beyond talented and just by looking at the other works she has done, it's no secret that this is her passion. I still can't thank her enough for my skirt, the experience, and also just being a positive influence as well.

Don't forget to check out her work at Trilodee.com

Here's a preview of a few shots:

A little bit on the style: I wanted to go with something different because I always wore my skirt to the club. I wanted to bring out something different. I paired my skirt with an old crop top from ASOS for the simple or traditional aspect. I brought out my favorite red pumps for the POP. Then to set it off with my Old Navy army fatigue jacket for the 'dare' of it all. Loved it.

Stay Stylish!
